Cleo's Life - What really happened

Post  CleopatraWolf on Sun Aug 24, 2008 9:16 pm

Part One!
“Cleo! Cleo! CLEO!” Shouted Kye.
“What!” I asked angrily, turning around.
“Play with us! You’ve been sitting there all day waiting for mum and dad, but they aren’t going to be home for a long time!”
My litter mates all nodded in agreement.

I wished mum and dad were not so busy, they were second in line to be Alpha. They were always out on important jobs, and I hardly got to see them. My protector and I got pretty close though, so she’s like a mother too me.

“Ok!” I yelled, then ran after them nipping at their tails.

***

I licked at my meat tenderly while all my litter mates swallowed theirs in seconds. Suddenly they were all frozen like statues.
“What is it?” I whispered to Wolf.
He nodded his head over to the bushes. There was a huge black wolf with big muscles. All the other wolves in the cave stood up and bowed to him. It was Scar, the Alpha.

He walked slowly through the cave like he was swallowing all the stares. Then he sat down and all the statues broke and the noise rose again.

I was hardly noticed as I walked over to Scar, for I was the only one who had seen the little pup he hid.

Part Two!

Scar lifted his huge paw to reveal a small pup, even smaller than me. I looked into Scar’s eyes that were nearly blind and surrounded with scratches. He pushed the pup into me then got up and left. None of the wolves noticed as he slipped into the night shadows.

I looked down at the pup in my paws, it was horrible looking. It was black and its ribs were poking out and it had scars all over it. I licked the scars and licked the pups eyes that were still not open.

I ran outside, unsuccessfully carrying the pup. I reached my mum and dad’s den and snuggled up to the pup. If it wasn’t warm soon it would die, and I knew on this cold autumn night, that body warmth was its only chance.

“What have you got there!” Yelled Crash.
“It’s a pup!” Barked Kye.
“No, it’s a possum!” Yelled Fay.
The others snorted.

I got up and stretched, then realised my litter mates were pushing the little pup.

I growled and leapt on my litter mates.
“Leave the pup alone!” I growled.

They started to laugh because I was much smaller than them. I grumbled then took the pup away into the forest, Crash followed.

“Where did you find it?” Asked Crash.
“Scar have him to me,” I replied, putting the pup onto the ground.
“You gonna name him?” Asked Crash, coming over to sniff the pup.
“I hadn’t thought of that yet, you have any suggestions?”
“Nup.”

We watched as the small pup started to fall asleep. It was amazing to know that it couldn’t even see us, it didn’t know about the world or its dangers.

Then suddenly out of the bushes I saw two beady little eyes, and in a flash Crash fell to the ground.

Part Three!

The snake than turned to face me, it was within striking distance. I gasped and stood as still a stone and then I saw the eyes of the snake reaching down to see the pup. And all within seconds, the snake leaped out to get the pup but my reflexes flew me in front of the snake. The snake’s fangs punctured my belly.

I fell weak against the ground and fell on top of Crash. My eyes stared into the distance, but inside I was seeing nothing.

Part Four!

I felt fur, and tried to grab it. I couldn’t see or hear, I could only feel. I felt that I was being carried.

I remembered the pup, and I thought of a name, Sere. I wanted him so badly, I needed to feel his fur, I just needed to see him. I thrashed around, weakly yelling his name, but I felt so sick. I was getting weaker, and it was harder to move.
“Sere!” I yelled, but I knew no one could hear me.

***
The voices drowned back in. I could only hear snippets.

“Crash......Cleo......snake bite.......deadly.....not much chance........the pup.......not good........dead.....”

I gasped. I sat up, my head felt heavy.
“Seer! Seer!” I yelled.

Wolves rushed to my side soothing me. I realised that they didn’t know that the pups name was Sere.

My eyes started to open, I gasped as I saw the puncture holes only centimetres away from my heart. If the snake had but me there I would be gone by now.

My mum and dad were by my side, I saw Crash sitting at the other end of the cave. Sere was nowhere in sight.

“Where is Seer!?” I demanded.

My parents looked confused.

“The pup! The black pup!” I yelled.

My parents looked at me.

Where was he!
